Where to purchase: From Yesstyle HERE

Price: £ 14.50

Volume: 200ml (They do also have a smaller version which is 50ml and is good for travel)

What is it?: From their sensitive skin range – A light, hydrating toner. If you wish something more moisturising, they have a ‘High Moisture’ toner.

Good for: All skin types – especially sensitive skin. I think those in hot and humid weather may prefer over dry skins and dry weather.

NOTE: Free from fragrance, colourings and is weakly acidic. No alcohol and ”allergy tested (we cannot guarantee that it will not cause allergies in any users).”

Made in: Japan

Directions: ”After washing your face, apply a small amount to your hand or a cotton wool pad, and blend into the whole face.”

How I use it: In the AM / PM, after cleansing, I drench a cotton pad with this and then swipe my face with the product to remove excess dirt.

Key Ingredients: ”Contains skin protecting ingredients: Portulaca Oleracea extract, grapefruit seed extract and moisturising Lipidure R (Polyquaternium-51) and hyaluronic acid.” I personally like the addition of Glycerin as that is hydrating too.

NOTE ABOUT THE WATER: ”Our skin care series uses natural water from Kamaishi City in Iwate Prefecture, Japan. Protects and fully moisturises sensitive skin that is prone to drying.”

Full Ingredients: Water, Dipropylene Glycol, Glycerin, PEG-32, Glycosyl Trehalose, Phenoxyethanol, Hydrogenated Starch Hydrolysate, Sodium Citrate, Sodium PCA, Allantoin, Citric Acid, Butylene Glycol, Polyquaternium-51, Grapefruit Seed Extract, Purslane (Portulaca Oleracea) Extract.

NOTE: Skincharisma have a full ingredient list breakdown HERE

-I appreciate that this has some hydrating ingredients.

Packaging: This 200ml version comes in a plastic bottle with a metal screw top. It also has a plastic cap with a small hole which prevents you from spilling/pouring out too much.

Texture: Extremely light and water – think of it like water.

It dries down very fast. It doesn’t make the skin feel Dry or dehydrated (via trans-epidermal water loss) BUT I do need to apply hydrating serums on top (i.e. this isn’t hydrating enough). And because it’s very light, I have to use up a lot of product to fully impregnate a cotton pad in order to swipe my face.

Fragrance?: No!

Good Under Makeup?: Yes!

How long have I been using this?: For about a month

The Effect?: Balanced skin – not overly hydrated or moisturised.

What I like:

  • No fragrance / EO
  • I like the easy to use packaging (and I like that I can see the product so I know when I will run out)
  • Non-irritating
  • Watery and light texture
  • Fine to swipe off dirt with

What I don’t like:

  • Not as hydrating as I believe their ‘High moisture’ toner would be.
  • I think a bit too light in texture for me as I have to use LOADS to soak up a cotton pad. So I waste product.
  • If they added peptides/Niacinamide/Arbutin or even Multi-molecular Hyaluronic acid, that my have been nice to BOOST the hydrating/moisturising or skin ”improving” benefits.

Overall Rating and Conclusion: 3.7/5 – This is a fine toner! no bells and whistles, but this is great for sensitive skins, great for those who want an incredibly simple toner. It is hydrating ENOUGH, but I would prefer a bit of a thicker texture (to hydrate/moisturise the skin more – so that I don’t need to add more serums and moisturisers on top to fully hydrate/moisturise my skin) – but I think that was my mistake in not purchasing the ‘high moisture’ toner instead. I think for those in hot humid weathers, and for those who use toners to ‘swipe off dirt’ like I do, you may like this. Just be warned that this is very very light so you might run out of product quite quick (hence why the 200ml is better than the 50ml).

Would I repurchase?: I think I would rather for the ‘high moisture’ toner instead. I prefer overall, the Good Molecules Niacinamide brightening toner over this because I like that there are added beneficial ingredients like Niacianamide, Arbutin and Vitamin C HERE
