I have a never-ending thirst for mascaras; I just love to hoard as many as I can. Even for my daily makeup routine, I use at least two different mascaras with multiple coats. One of the facial features that I covet the most are lush, dense eyelashes – the kind they show in mascara advertisements; which albeit fake do appear fascinating. But unfortunately, I lack that beauty feature and to add to my plight, my coworkers, who are from Middle Eastern countries are blessed with beautiful, long lashes, and their eyes look pretty without a single coat of mascara. This post is the review of one of the mascaras that I bought during my Korean haul.
Product Description: A protective layer is formed on each lash, making your eyelashes look full and voluminous Price: $6
My Experience with Missha The Style 4D Mascara:
I was really fascinated by this product because I am constantly on the lookout for the products that can make my lashes look dense and voluminous, which will work as per their claims and will not harm my eyes. When I saw the description and reviews of this product, I immediately added it to my cart and hoped that its description and reviews are genuine.
The product comes in regular mascara-like packaging. The tube that holds the product is slender and black in color. It has a cap which holds the lash comb/wand and is relatively skinnier that the usual mascara wands. It is a generous sized tube and looks like the product will last for a while. The main aspect of Korean makeup is to keep the whole look subtle and natural. They do not like dramatic looks or over-exaggerated features. Their products work but within the limits of natural beauty and appearance – these products are not for people who would love to make a dramatic statement with their makeup. That is why Korean skin care is famous in USA, but makeup not so much.
I knew this fact, but still wanted to dabble with some Korean makeup, so decided to give a fair trial to this mascara. It has no fragrance, it is opaque black in color, does not clump lashes and has no fall out. However, it is definitely not for someone like me who has sparse lashes and who would love to make a bold statement with my lashes.
It can be paired with false lashes, but since I do not wear falsies, this aspect is a big letdown. The wand is skinny and can poke eyes if used in a rush, so I take my time when using it and work my way up from my roots to lash ends, and do the same for my lower lashes as well.
Pros of Missha The Style 4D Mascara:
- The concept of the product is appealing to people like me who seek products to add volume to lashes.
- It is affordable and is definitely worth a try.
- It adds a subtle definition to lashes and is perfect for those who like subdued makeup look or those who wear lashes.
Cons of Missha The Style 4D Mascara:
- Availability can be an issue for some, but some Korean websites do ship to India as well.
- The wand is a bit tricky to work with – too skinny and can poke eyes.
- The ingredient list is rife with chemicals and no essential extracts that promote lash growth – this is unusual for Korean beauty because they always have some beneficial ingredients in their products.
From this product, I got what I had expected. Nevertheless, I enjoyed my first Korean brand mascara and will continue to use it, but only in conjunction with another volumizing mascara.
