This post will be reviewing the Cosrx Centella Toner.
It’s been a while since I reviewed toners, so I thought I should talk about this one. I recently moved away from traditional toners to embrace hydrating toner mists. I realized that most toners that I use are watery, with a few viscous exceptions. So, I switched entirely to toner mists. It turns out that many brands also offer mist versions of their toners as well. You probably won’t notice except you look for them. With the frequency that I use toners in my skincare routine, mists are just the perfect hydrating products. I never go a day without using one, and they’re so much more convenient to use.
Whilst hunting for toner mists to add to my wishlist, I found this one by Cosrx. While I have heard about it a few times as it is part of the original range by Cosrx, I never got around to using it. But now that I’m currently using it, I’m excited to share my thoughts about it with you.
First Impressions of the Cosrx Centella Toner
According to COSRX,
Watery, spray type toner provides relief to irritated and sensitive skin and calms redness.
WHY IT’S SPECIAL:
Soothing & Hydrating for irritated, dehydrated skinCentella asiatica leaf water is a healing ingredient that helps soothe irritated skin and calm inflammed red skin. At the same time, mineral water from Jeju Island creates glowy, smooth look by hydrating and nourishing the skin.
Kept the ingredient list to the minimumWe kept the ingredient list short and simple and exclude all the unnecessary ingredients that might irritate the skin.
Convenient spray type tonerThe liquid is evenly distributed all over the face, delivering refreshing and cooling feeling without drenching the face.
Ingredient List & Fragrance
In the true COSRX fashion, this is a simple no-frills toner for dry, irritated and sensitive skin. As usual, the ingredient list reflects that. Instead of a bunch of filler ingredients that serve no purpose, you’ll find calming and soothing ingredients that are actually beneficial. They include;
- Mineral Water
- Centella Asiatica Leaf Water
- Panthenol
- Allantoin
- Sodium Hyaluronate
It will undoubtedly be counterproductive having a product targeted at those with irritated and sensitive skin filled with so many ingredients that could potentially irritate the skin. This, my friends, is why we will always stan the intuitiveness of COSRX as a brand.
As always, it is alcohol, essential oil and fragrance-free.
Pacakaging & Consistency
Perhaps my favourite thing about this product is that it is packaged in a spray bottle which dispenses a fine mist anytime you apply. I’ve used a fair share of mists for skin, and I can tell you for sure that they are not created equal. This has a watery consistency, so it’s the perfect base for my essences and serums. Also, the mist nozzle works every single time. So far, it has yet to disappoint me. I can definitely say it’s a quality packaging as well.
Pricing & Avaliability
So far, this toner has been the cheapest I’ve bought. I’m not sure if it is as a result of the retailer i got it from. All I know is, I got it for less than £10. When it comes to Korean Skincare, you need to learn to shop around. You’ll be surprised at the kind of deals you can get. For 150ml, this is pretty affordable for less than $15 so don’t sleep on it.
Review of the Cosrx Centella Toner
So, I use this toner as the first step in my routine to refresh my skin in the morning. Sometimes, I skip the cleanser in the morning and just go in with a toner mist. Together with my cup of coffee, this helps wake me up a bit. I also use it in between my serums to improve absorption and prevent piling. If you layer a bunch of serums and you’re not misting in between you’re really missing out.
Performance
What can I say? it is hydrating and soothing. I feel like the combination of Centella Asiatica, Panthenol and Allantoin calms my skin down whenever I start to feel sensitive. Particulaurly in the mornings when I have to layer my 20% Azelaic Acid which stings sometimes. Misting my face beforehand preps my skin and prevents any potential irritations and sensitivities.
So, if your skin is prone to dryness, redness, irritations and sensitivities, this is the perfect pick-me-up. It’s affordable and you can get it almost everywhere. What’s not to love?!
Finally,
I’m yet to find a COSRX product that has disappointed and I honestly hope I don’t anytime soon. This toner mist is a bestseller for a reason so don’t sleep on it. In terms of product, packaging and price, it is 10/10 for me.
