My Take on La Roche-Posay Toleriane Ultra Light Intense Soothing Fluid:
I have dry to combination, sensitive skin. When I say sensitive, it means my skin reacts to things at the drop of a hat. So for that you need a no-nonsense product like La Roche-Posay Toleriane Ultra Light.
It comes in a sleek and small transparent bottle with a very different kind of pump dispenser. At least I haven’t seen such kind of mechanism before. I don’t like that it doesn’t come with an outer cap, but the pump opens and closes with a twist. So, it’s good to travel with.
This belongs to the Toleriane range which is meant for ultrasensitive, intolerant skin. The lotion is ultra light as the name says. According to La Roche-Posay, it is “a formula stripped down to the essential, using minimal ingredients and removing all potentially irritant or allergy-inducing substances.” When I first got this, I thought that this fluid which seems so light won’t be moisturizing enough for my skin. But the moment you rub it between your palms, you feel that it’s actually quite hydrating. The consistency is exactly like that of Neutrogena moisturizer for combination skin, but this one is a little more moisturizing.
My dermatologist recommended this when I went to see him for my pollen allergy last year. He told me to mix this with calamine lotion (for summers), and believe me this potion used alone or with calamine works like magic on irritated skin. You know how you get those itchy bumps on the jaw line sometimes for no reason. I even get red flare-ups when I am very tensed or under stress (I know I am sounding all weird here!). This simple lotion is a one-shot solution for everything! It moisturizes well and takes care of all skin worries. The added bonus is this is good for your eye areas too, so you can apply it all over the face without any inhibition. Although this is not any eye cream, I quite like that it would soothe the undereye area too!
I don’t like the fact that it contains dimethicone (I got to know about it while writing this review). I mean I have this psychological thing against anything related to -cones. But it works, and that’s it!
What I Loved about La Roche-Posay Toleriane Ultra Light Intense Soothing Fluid:
• A very light fluid-like consistency. • Moisturizes skin well. • Calms down the skin irritations; a perfect product for sensitive skin. • Never breaks out skin. • Preservative-free, paraben-free, fragrance-free, alcohol-free, colorant-free, lanolin-free. • Pump mechanism makes the use fuss free and hygienic. • Sleek travel-friendly packaging.
What I Didn’t Love Much about La Roche-Posay Toleriane Ultra Light Intense Soothing Fluid:
• Has silicones.
IMBB Rating: 4.9/5
Would I Repurchase/Recommend La Roche-Posay Toleriane Ultra Light Intense Soothing Fluid? Yes! This is my second bottle. And though this is priced on the higher side, a little is required for each use and a single bottle will last really long. Highly recommended for people with sensitive skin.
