Hey everyone and welcome to day 20 of my review challenge. Today’s review is a quick one because it is a first impression on a sheet mask that I was gifted. JM Solution is a Korean Beauty company, and this mask is supposed to deeply hydrate rough, dry skin. I have only used this sheet mask once, because I am scared to use it again.. So with that foreshadowing, here’s the review.
Packaging and First Impressions
These sheet masks come in a box of 10. Each sheet mask is individually packaged. The sheet mask inside feels very sturdy and is made out of a thicker material. The serum inside is of a thicker consistency and there was a lot of it included in each sachet. I didn’t notice any particularly strong scents.
Price and Quantity
Because I was gifted these sheet masks, I have no idea how much they were purchased for. Looking online, the box of 10 is available on Ebay and various other websites for prices ranging from $20-50 USD. Because I personally trust Amazon, here is a link to purchase a box of 10 for $28 CAD. One website was selling these masks separately for $3.50 USD each. On the JM Solution website, the box of 10 is priced at 30,000원. On their american website you can buy 1 mask at $6 USD each. Because of the varying prices I can’t really weigh in on how affordable these are.
Claims
Here are the claims from the JM Solution website:
“Water Luminous Golden Cocoon Mask Black revitalizes your skin. With a thick and dense-mesh net structure, it moisturizes skin and prevents evaporation. The essence mask contains golden silk cocoon protein and provides double functions of brightening and wrinkle improvement.”
There are also some claims picture form on this website, so here are the pictures:
From all of these graphics, this mask sounds absolutely amazing!
Performance
First of all, when first removing the mask from the package, I was really impressed with how thick the mask itself was. It didn’t feel thin or papery like some do, it was really quite thick and almost spongey. There was also a LOT of serum in the package, which is great, because you can continue to use that serum afterwards. The mask adhered well to my face although there was some slippage, probably because of how saturated and heavy the mask was.
After leaving the mask on for 20 minutes, I rubbed the serum into my skin and left things at that. My skin definitely felt very hydrated. The serum did not really soak in though, there was definitely a residue left on my face.
The next day, unfortunately, I woke up with some tiny white pimples on my cheeks, which was clearly from over hydration. These pimples disappeared within 2 days, but I haven’t really wanted to use this mask again because of that.
The only situation in which I think this mask could be good were if you really do have incredibly dry skin, or if you had just used a clay mask that dries down and really dehydrates your skin. Then this very hydrating treatment might be great. However, it did not work well for me.
Final Thoughts
Originally I was excited to try these sheet masks. I have never really given sheet masks a chance because I have always used wash-away masks. I have also tried very few Korean Beauty products, and they are said to have such amazing skin care. These masks may be good, but they just didn’t work for my skin.
Have you tried these masks or anything from this company?
